Griffith University is one of the best-known research universities in Queensland, Australia. The university was established in the year 1971 but it opened its door for students in the year 1975. Griffith is the first and foremost university to introduce environmental science and Asian studies in Australia.

The university has gotten its name from Sir Samuel Walker Griffith who is an eminent personality of Australia. He was formerly the Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia and has played an important role in framing the Australian Constitution. Undergraduate Level Eligibility Requirements

Graduate Level Eligibility Requirements


Basic education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognised university with a minimum GPA of 5 on a scale of 7

Standardised exam: No GRE or GMAT score required

MBA Eligibility Requirements


Basic education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline a minimum GPA of 4.5 (using a 7.0 point scale)

Standardised exam: GMAT with an overall score of 550

Work experience: 3 years of full-time professional experience as follows:

Relevant work experience: 2 years

Demonstrating leadership experience: 1 year

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Eligibility Requirements


Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least class IIB honours incorporating a significant research component

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Eligibility Requirements


Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with class I honours or class IIA honours

Master’s degree (or equivalent) incorporating a significant research component

Mandatory English Proficiency


Since the mode of education is English across all courses, international applicants from non-English-speaking countries need to prove their language proficiency. International applicants at Griffith need to provide either of the following for undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes:


IELTS: Minimum of 6.5 bands (no less than 6 bands in each section)

TOEFL: Minimum score of 575 in paper-based or 79 in internet-based

PTE Academic: Overall score of 58 (no less than 50 in each section)

ISLPR: Score of more than 3 in each skill

Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (C1 Advanced): Minimum overall score of 176 (no less than 169 in each section)

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (C2 Proficiency): Minimum overall score of 176 (no less than 169 in each section)
